BTH/1000/1300/B/G Hydraulic Trough Tipper
This Hydraulic Trough Tipper was designed to lift and tip a Trough of plastic extrusions (700 x 700 x 6100mm) with a maximum total weight of 1000 Kgs at a discharge height of 1300mm to discharge into a Shredder Trough. The Hydraulic Trough Tipper is constructed from stainless steel, is a welded construction throughout and would be bolted to the floor. This Hydraulic Trough Tipper is powered via a hydraulic powerpack and tips the Trough by the extension of a pair of hydraulic cylinders to an angle of 30 degrees past the horizontal. The hydraulic cylinders are fitted with a safety check valve such that even in the unlikely event of a hydraulic hose failure, the raised lift carriage will not fall to the floor.
The Trough is loaded onto a fixed base frame using a Forklift Truck and once the Forklift Truck has reversed from the guarded area and all Safety Devices are healthy, the Hydraulic Trough Tipper tip cycle can commence. As soon as the Hydraulic Trough Tipper starts to lift, the lifting forks will raise the Trough clear of the base frame and tip it through a total angle of 120°. There was a tipping chute mounted on the lift carriage designed to retain the Trough as it is tipped and guide the extrusions into the Shredder Trough.
Safety Guard to BS EN 14120:2015 Safety of Machinery Guards
This Hydraulic Trough Tipper is supplied complete with 2 off Side Guards to be fixed to the floor at either side of the tipper. The safety guards are constructed from 40 x 40 x 3mm box section and 40 x 40mm aperture, 3mm wire weld mesh. To allow access between the Hydraulic Trough Tipper and the Shredder for maintenance there was an interlocked safety guard door in the right hand Side Guard. The guard door is electrically and mechanically interlocked preventing the Hydraulic Trough Tipper from operating when the door is open. Additionally, the guard door can only be opened when the lift carriage is at the full down position to prevent access whilst a load is raised.
Hydraulic Trough Tipper Electrical Control
This Hydraulic Trough Tipper is fitted with an IP65 Control Panel which is mounted on the guard frame at a convenient position to give good maintenance access under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulation 1998 (PUWER). Upper and Lower end of travel limit switches are positioned to prevent inadvertent adjustment or damage but are easily adjustable by trained personnel for fine adjustment on site.
The control panel incorporates the following controls; Up, Down, Guard Release, Emergency Stop and a Reset Facility. The Hydraulic Trough Tipper operation is based on a ‘hold to run’ principle such that either the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ pushbuttons must be held for the machine to operate, as soon as a button is released, the machine stops. The control panel has a volt free pair of contacts which can be used to connect a ‘Call to Run’ signal if required.
