1 off BTM/2P/600/1300/B/G Double Pillar Wheelie Bin Tipper
This Multiple Wheelie Bin Tipper was a Double Pillar Tipper designed to lift and tip various Wheelie Bins at a discharge height of 1300mm onto an Incinerator Infeed Conveyor. The lift carriage was designed to accept a single 1700 Litre Bin or 2 off 770 or 1100 Litre Wheelie Bins. The bins were loaded by wheeling them onto pairs of lifting forks. In the tipped position, the bins are securely retained in the lift carriage. The machine was manufactured from Grade 304 stainless steel, was a welded construction throughout and designed to be bolted to the floor. The lifting was accomplished via chains driven by a motor gearbox mounted at the top of the one column with a crossover shaft to the other column.
The Wheelie Bin Tipper lift carriage was fitted with a stainless steel tipping chute that directed the waste towards the centre of the Incinerator Conveyor. The chute extended down the sides of the lift carriage to prevent the Wheelie Bin towing bar from falling over and getting jammed as the machine operated. There was a pair of spray nozzles mounted off the machine to allow a jet of water to be directed into the bins to rinse them out in the tipped position.
Safety Guard to BS EN 14120:2015 Safety of Machinery Guards
The Wheelie Bin Tipper is supplied complete with a safety guard to meet the guidelines of BS EN 14120:2015 Safety of Machinery Guards. The safety guard is constructed from 40 x 40 x 3mm stainless steel box section and 40 x 40mm aperture, 3mm wire stainless steel weld mesh which encloses the Wheelie Bin Tipper to a height of 2200mm on both sides. The entrance to the machine through which the bins were loaded was guarded with a safety light barrier.
Wheelie Bin Tipper Electrical Control
The Wheelie Bin Tipper was fitted with an IP65 Stainless Steel Control Panel mounted on the Safety Guard at a convenient position to give good maintenance access under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulation 1998 (PUWER). The control panel incorporated the following controls; Control On, Up, Down, Emergency Stop and a Reset Facility.
Upper and Lower end of travel limit switches are positioned to prevent inadvertent adjustment or damage but are easily adjustable by trained personnel for fine adjustment on site. The Wheelie Bin Tipper operation is latched so that pressing the ‘Up’ push button once will raise the lift to the full tip position. Once the product has been discharged, pressing the ‘Down’ push button once will return the Wheelie Bin Tipper to the full down position. The control panel has a volt free pair of contacts which can be used to connect a ‘Call to Run’ signal if required.
