BTM/2P/600/2100/M/G Double Pillar Tipper
This Double Pillar Tipper is designed to lift and tip a 600 Kgs CHEP Pallecon Container (1200mm L x 800mm W x 805mm H) at a discharge height of ¬2100mm. The Double Pillar Tipper is manufactured from Grade 304 stainless steel, is a welded construction throughout and is designed to be mobile on castors. The lifting is accomplished via chains driven by a motor gearbox mounted at the top of the one column with a crossover shaft to the other column.
To ensure that the tipper is always positioned correctly, there was a floor mounted location bracket that positioned the tipper both sideways and at the correct distance from the hopper. This bracket had a magnetic sensor which was made once the tipper was positioned correctly. If this sensor was not made, the tipper would not work. The tipper was fitted with heavy duty polyurethane wheeled castors, two fixed castors at the tipping side of the Double Pillar Tipper and two swivel braked castors at the loading side.
Safety Guard to BS EN 14120:2015 Safety of Machinery Guards
This Double Pillar Tipper was supplied complete with a safety guard to meet the guidelines of BS EN 14120:2015 Safety of Machinery Guards. The safety guard is constructed from 40 x 40 x 3mm stainless steel box section and 2.0mm stainless steel sheet. The safety guard encloses the Double Pillar Tipper to a height of 2200mm on two sides, 1800mm at the tipping position with a hinged guard door on the fourth side. The guard door is electrically and mechanically interlocked preventing the Double Pillar Tipper from operating when the door is open. Additionally, the guard door can only be opened when the lift carriage is at the full down position to prevent access whilst a load is raised.
Double Pillar Tipper Electrical Control
This Double Pillar Tipper is fitted with an IP65 Stainless Steel Control Panel which is mounted on the Safety Guard at a convenient position to give good maintenance access under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulation 1998 (PUWER). The control panel incorporates the following controls; Up, Down, Guard Release, Emergency Stop and a Reset Facility. This Double Pillar Tipper is supplied with a location bracket and magnetic sensor which must be activated for the Double Pillar Tipper to operate.
Upper and Lower end of travel limit switches are positioned to prevent inadvertent adjustment or damage but are easily adjustable by trained personnel for fine adjustment on site. The guarded Double Pillar Tipper operation is latched so that pressing the ‘Up’ push button once will raise the lift to the full tip position. Once the product had been discharged, pressing the ‘Down’ push button once will return the Double Pillar Tipper to the full down position. The control panel has a volt free pair of contacts which can be used to connect a ‘Call to Run’ signal if required.
