BTM/75/1300/B Tote Handling System

The Tote Handling System consisted of 3 different machines, each designed to complete a specific task.

Machine A      To lift and tip two types of plastic totes at the beginning of the process

Machine B      To lift and tip Wash Baskets and then elevate the Baskets to an upper roller track

Machine C      To lower Wash Baskets for the plastic totes to tip into

Machine A - BTM/75/1300/B Tote Handling System Tipper

This Tote Handling System Tipper was designed to lift and tip 2 different plastic totes at a discharge height of 1300mm. The Tote Handling System Tipper was manufactured from Grade 304 stainless steel, is a welded construction throughout and is designed to be bolted to the floor. The lifting was achieved by a 50mm toothed timing belt driven by a motor gearbox mounted at the top of the main column.

The plastic totes were loaded onto a powered roller track and driven into the lift carriage. Once in the correct position, the tote was lifted clear of the roller track with lifting arms at the base of the lift carriage and tipped into a conveyor hopper. The lifting carriage was fitted with a tipping chute to ensure that the parts are directed into the feed chute and to retain the totes in the tipped position. Once discharged, the totes were lowered back down onto the roller track to be reversed out of the lift carriage and transferred sideways onto the outfeed system.

Machine B - BTM/75/2225-3600/B Tote Handling System Tipper/Elevator

This Tote Handling System Tipper/Elevator was designed to lift and tip a Tote at a discharge height of 2225mm. It also elevated the Tote after tipping to a height of 3600mm to feed onto a roller conveyor. The Tote Handling System Tipper/Elevator was manufactured from Grade 304 stainless steel, is a welded construction throughout and is designed to be bolted to the floor. The lifting is achieved by a 50mm toothed timing belt driven by a motor gearbox mounted at the top of the main column.

The Tote Handling System Tipper Elevator was supplied complete with a Drum Roller Conveyor mounted on the lift carriage so that the tote could be driven into the lift carriage from a transfer conveyor at the lower level height of 1205mm. Once the Tote was in the correct position, it was lifted and tipped at a discharge height to feed into a receiving chute. After the Tote was discharged, it was lowered back to the full down position. At the full down position, the tipping cam was retracted by a pneumatic cylinder to allow the Tote to be raised to the full up position. At the full up position, the Tote was driven out of the lift carriage onto the upper roller conveyor.

Machine C - BTM/75/1205-3600/B Tote Handling System

This Tote Handling System was designed to lower a Wash Basket from an upper level @ 3600mm back to the lower level @ 1205mm. The Tote Handling System was manufactured from Grade 304 stainless steel, is a welded construction throughout and is designed to be bolted to the floor. The lifting is achieved by a 50mm toothed timing belt driven by a motor gearbox mounted at the top of the main column.

This Tote Handling System was supplied complete with a Drum Roller Conveyor mounted on the lift carriage to allow the totes to be driven into and out of the lift carriage at both levels.

All Tote Handling Systems were supplied with the following components all wired down to a stainless steel terminal box fixed to the main lift column. The final control system was designed and installed by the Main Contractor.
